Did You Know?
Despite being called killer whales, orcas are not whales at all—they are actually the largest species of dolphin! These highly intelligent and very social animals live and hunt in pods, using sophisticated communication and teamwork to thrive in the ocean. They are also the only animals known to hunt great white sharks!
With every piece I create, my goal is not only to inspire and entertain but also to educate—embedding fascinating facts like these directly into my artwork.
For this Orca piece, I carefully selected words like black and white, calves, and highly intelligent, along with phrases such as “always sleep with one eye open,” “no animals hunt them,” and “originally named whale killer by ancient sailors.” In total, you’ll find over 15 words and phrases hidden within the design, each one celebrating the power and mystery of the orca.
Every piece of my art is digitally hand-drawn, one letter at a time, with no word or phrase ever repeated. Depending on the complexity, each artwork takes between 6 and 60 hours to complete.
I truly hope this piece brings you as much joy as I had in creating it!
